The Relationship Between Chinese Traditional Furniture And Ergonomics

This thesis studies the type and the development variations of Chinese traditional furniture, and the relationship with Ergonomics from three periods.: early China (the warring period — Tang Dynasty), the transition period (Tang Dynasty —Five Dynasties), and the later period (Song Dynasty—Ming and Qing Dynasties). Chinese traditional furniture goes through a long historical development process accompanied with the development of the human being. From the " low dumpy", "couch', "feast"(the Warring period—double Hans) to "chair", "stool" , "stumpy" ( Sui and Tang Dynasties— Five Dynasties), Undergoing the accumulation and development of Song and Yuan Dynasties, Chinese traditional furniture reached the most glorious period in Chinese furniture history during the mid-period of Ming Dynasty and it witnessed the history. The life styles of human being resolve the modeling and type of the furniture. With the development variation of the furniture, people gradually changed the recognition to Ergonomics and the relationship between the furniture and Ergonomics is getting closer and closer. The advantage of the early traditional furniture is helpful to the furniture design of today and the future.
