From The Perception To The Rationality——Study On The Design Of Sitting Device In The Family Of Soft Furniture

Soft furniture is the modern furniture which without any rigid support structure. In the20th century60s to70s,the Pop Art was prevailing, at the same time many furniture manufacturers began to focus on new forms of furniture.Not only promoted the new materials to be used on furniture,but also contributed to the birth of soft furniture.The new materials was bold attempt on the soft furniture,that accomplished numerous stylish furniture form.And now.the soft furniture are popular in the common family.There are multiple soft furniture.but the concept of the soft furniture is rarely mentioned. This dissertation attempts to make a comprehensive analysis to soft fumiture.As the length of this dissertation is limited,this dissertation’s mainly attention is on the seating device of soft furniture.The train of thought about this dissertation is from perceptual shape, color, emotion to rational material and ergonomics.This dissertation start with the concept of soft furniture.Firstly,it makes a complete concept definition.Then by reviewing the history of the classic design, this dissertation introduces the existing outstanding soft furniture to deepen understanding of soft furniture. Secondly, through analyzing the form, color, emotion of soft furniture, the characteristics of perceptual design level elements of soft furniture can be summed up. Thirdly,,by analyzing the material and the ergonomics of the existing soft furniture,draw the design principles of the soft furniture. Finally through the design practice, applying the analysis design principle to design, feedback the research, makes the value of this research more clear.
