| PVC, one of the 5 major thermoplastics, has been widely used in a variety of fields. PVC can be processed to two products: rigid products and plasticized products. Plasticized product is usually used as film, cable conduit and leather etc., and rigid products includes pipes, sheets sections, injection-moulded items. With developing of economy, the development of PVC rigid products is getting rapid. However, before used to process rigid products, PVC must be modified.Nowadays the study for modification of PVC resin is widespread, the method of adding post-blended modifier (such as CPE, ACR, MBS,ABS etc.) is commonly used, compared to addition of modifier, the effect of graft polymerization in PVC molecular chain is optimum, the former is a physical modification process, which is simple yet inefficient, the later is efficient yet complicated In recent years, the method of applying nano- particle (both elastic and rigid ) for modification of high polymer has become very popular.Present article discusses the microcosmic modification of PVC resin by the method of adding acrylic acid prepared by emulsion polymerization in the course of polymerization of PVC.Based on experiments, present article makes a thorough study for the effect of particle size of ACR and composition recipe during preparation of ACR on improvement of impact-resistant character of resin. Experiments have proved that through in-situ polymerizatoin of PVC and by utilizing suitable modifier ACR, improvement of impact-resistant character is available. Besides, the resin prepared has superior processing feature.Modified PVC prepared through in-situ polymerization and by utilizing ACR is a pioneer in China, which has a significant effect on improving technical level of PVC industry. |
