The heating capability of metallurgical coke was so worse that it could not adapt to the production demand of the Blast Furnace in BISC. Methods such as coal matching, adding additives, handling of coke outside oven to improve the heating capability of metallurgical coke were studied based upon the coal resource conditions of Xinjiang and BISC's practice.It is found out that the coke reactivity is effectively repressed with current corpus coal matching with high change degree and high inertia coal, as well as the fire roasts coal. Coke reaction index (CRI) is effectively reduced 10%~15%. The effect of adding additives isn't in evidence. Adopting handling of coke outside oven is positive,however it is expensive.By analyzing a great deal of experimental data,relationship and regulation are found as follows: Reaction of the firepot-coke is related with the coal index of Rmax ,∑I' and MBI, reaction of the semi-industry coke is evidentively related with the micro-structure. By the way, suggestion is put forward for the further improvement.
