As the competition in Chinese textile market becomes fiercer and fiercer, the life-span of products becomes shorter and shorter. Small-batch orders occur more frequently than before. Beam warpers and section warpers can no longer satisfy new needs. So sample wipers are needed. Because of its fitness to many kinds of yarn, quick response, less yarn consumption and less bobbins, the sample warper is welcomed by many textile mills. But as a relatively new machine, little information about it is available. Now only two companies, Karl-Mayer in German and Suzuki in Japan, can make it. Through some civil factories try hard to make it. Some key questions are waiting to be resolved.At first the classification, principles and some key parts of sample warper are introduced in this paper. Then through comparing different sample warpers, the trend of sample warper is pointed out. The trend is that a sample warper must have homogeneous tension, long warper length, and high productivity, and should be intelligentized and automatized. Then aiming at some key questions in machine design, this paper will bring forward some suggestions:1. Determination of some parameters of bevel board.The parameters of bevel board are determined according to the requirements of sample warpers.a. the yarn can run on the bevel board;b. the speed of yam mustn't be too low. Otherwise, a irregular order of yarn will happen;c. the obliquity of bevel board mustn't exceed 60,because of the limit of machine's room.Then the paper will analyse the requirements a and b respectively. And itconcludes that (28 ,60)At last the limit of will be proved by some experiments;2. Comparing two kinds of sample warper: stentering winding sample warperand regular winding sample warper, this paper point out their shortcomings. Then this paper proposes a new winding way: stentering regular winding sample warper. This way is patented, whose code is 03141782.5. And this paper recommends a mechanism to realize it.3. The homogeneous of tension change with the length of yarn from warp creel to face board. This paper analyses the phenomon. and carries out some experiments for it. And concludes that for eliminating this irregularity, we must realize an ideal route of yarn in the sample warper. As is impossible for current machines this paper suggests a new way-turnplate creel to realize the ideal route, and eliminate this irregularity;4. Too high yarn tension which often occurs in its use, is a major disadvantage of a DH-3 sample warper. The paper gives a detailed description of the phenomenon. The causes are found by analyses and experiments. Then a solution is brought forward. It is leasing tension compensator. And it has two models: normal and betterment.In a word, through analyses of the four key problems mentioned above, this paper points a way for designing and using new sample warpers.
