This dissertation make a systematic and detailed study on seepage field of MSW landfill, and two-dimensional saturated-unsaturated seepage numerical modeling of MSW landfill is developed.Landfill is the primary disposal of municipal solid waste in the world. The leachate of landfill pollute the surface water and the ground water, and it is one of the primary factors for pollution of environment. Thus, the study on leachate has become a topic of general interest. Based on the engineering property of MSW, the theory of soil hydrodynamics is applied to simulate the flow law of the leachate. On the basis of the differential equation of saturated-unsaturated seepage in porous mediums, in which the whole pressure head is the fundamental unknown quantity, the saturated domain and the unsaturated domain are regard as a whole system, and the two-dimension saturated-unsaturated seepage modeling is established. The modeling is applied to the Xiaping MSW Landfill. According to the features of the contour map, the flow law of the leachate under the condition of rain infiltration is analyzed. The results from the simulation also provide the scientific basis for estimating leachate yield. The results from the computation prove that the modeling is rational, reliable and effective. It is concluded that the methods and modeling have theoretic and practical significance in the design of MSW Landfill.
