Whereas the present situation of the finishing process on dimensional surface still depends on manual labor. After comparing the merit and defect of domestic working mettrod with foreign's, the principle of magnetic abrasive finishing (MAF) has been deeply investigated. How to solve the difficult problem of finishing process on dimensional surface depends on two aspects of technological advancement, namely, exploring new finishing methods and achieving automation. Using permanent magnetic pole to finish the surface of pieces as an new opinion is put forward.On the basis of knowing about permanent magnetism design two magnetic poles having different magnetic circuit. Using magnetic abrasive apparatus do some experiments research on working character of permanent magnetic pole â…  and â…¡. Analysis how the different circumferential velocity of magnetic pole, different working clearance, different quantity and size of magnetic abrasive grains influence the surface roughness. From the related data and curves educe the optimal parameters. Furthermore, using the same magnetic pole do a lot of experiments on different material piece, and at the same time, proceed with theoretical analysis about its effect. The data of the test shows that the two permanent magnetic poles can realize efficient rubbing and attain the finishing acquirement.In addition, through the technological test finds that improving the surface magnetic density of magnetic pole can let the MAF working efficiently, improve finishing effect, and shorten the finishing time, The design fitting for dimensional surface has been pointed. The foundation for accelerating automatic finishing about dimensional surface is laid.
