Woodworking Planer is a kind of 揗achine tool? Its design belongs to engineering design fidld. Woodworking Planer not only includes New Design, but also includes Adaptive Design and Changing Parametric Design. In this paper, four kinds of design model are introduced. These are Sequential Model Design Centered Model Concurrent Definition Model and Dynamic Model. And two kinds of design strategy which produce one concept or multiple concepts are introduced too. Different design methods should be chosen in different design phase. Based on new design, sequential model and design strategy producing multiple concepts are the first choice for Woodworking Planer. The principle and forms of function-means tree are introduced. And the steps of setting up top to bottom function-means tree are introduced too in this article. Concept design model of woodworking planer is mentioned. The top to bottom function-means tree is used to finish concept design of 揻our-side moulder? And valuable analysis method is used in concept design evaluation of it. By the evaluation, it is determined as result of concept design that are multiple location forms, whole course feed, four knife tool plane, manual adjust, mechanical clamping. In woodworking planer structure design, three basic principles are mentioned. These are 揇efinition梖it to technology function Simple梐chieve the aim economically~ Safe梥afe for both people and environment? The structure design of 揻our- side moulder?are finished in the end of paper, including assemble drawing and primary drawings. The analysis of technical economy is done also.
