The paper is based on the National Natural Science Fund project "Study on the design theory and application and of simultaneous ,synthetical and evolving design of product conceptual structure and tolerance"( Number: 50475129), studies theory and technology of tolerance design based on conceptual structure growing design. On these groundwork, we actualize the growing tolerance design prototype system and use a example to validate its correctness and validity. My research works are listed as following:Completely investigate and study the developing status of the Conceptual Design and Computer Aided Tolerance Design of the mechanical products at home and abroad, discuss the problems in these two fields, expatiate reasons why I select this problem,gives the main research contents of this paper.On the basis of the comparability between Conceptual Design of product and biology growth and three basal theory: Theory of Decomposition And Reconstitution(D&R), Function Face, Generalized Location Principle, the author brings forward the method of Growing Conceptual Design of product which is based on Location Mode according to Top-Down Design ideas, and researches Constructive Growing Design model, accomplishes the system function module by the technology of OO(Object Oriented). I also discuss the relationship between function, structrue, dimension and tolerance, sets up Tolerance Info Model and combines it with structure design to give a general frame of simultaneous design of tolerance and structure.Study the automatic generation method of dimension chain, which includes closed loop confirmation ,memory ,acquisition of its dimension and tolerance information, unit loop confirmation, memory and acquisition of its dimension information, mating clearance conformation, memory and acquisition of mating information, firstly bring forward TF-UL-TF-MF method to search full dimension chain. Expatiate the methods of Tolerance Analysis and Distribution and makes modification on it to serve for Growing Tolerance Analysis and Distribution (GTAD).
