Land use survey is an important legal system of China, which affects the development of national economy and society. It not only involves each person's land rights, but also has a strong technology and policy. The vitality of land survey data is the accuracy, authenticity and the timeliness. In Rural land use survey, identifying the land distribution and status of land using of the national cultivated land, grassland, forest, rural residential and other types is a very large task which requires considerable human and material resources. Therefore, fast and efficient access to land type of investigation data is particularly important. This paper is written by combining with the second rural land survey of Shaanxi Province. In this project, the commonly used methods to survey the land type are two ways. one is the whole field survey, the other is the comprehensive survey. Based on data collection, analysis and sorting, it found that both methods have many shortcomings. This paper proposes an improved method base on comprehensive survey-"3S comprehensive survey".3S comprehensive survey:after the field survey and investigation Using GPS positioning, determine the interpretation signs and the type be classified. On this basis, first, classify the remote sensing image of test area and do some post-processing. Secondly, convert the raster data to vector data and smooth and simplify the data with related ArcGIS modules. And then obtain the foundation land class polygon data. This paper described Specific data processing and did accuracy analysis by test area in Ganquan, Heyang and Ningqiang County. Experiments show that the method has a certain degree of feasibility and determine the optimum range of parameters in the data processing.
