With the mass of the construction of infrastructure projects, the damage to the ecological environment there is also accelerating its pace. Therefore, all kinds of natural disasters frequent take place and landslide as a common type of disaster was common occurrence. The destruction of landslides is very strong; it is not only affects the human production and life, and sometimes even brings a crushing blow, to cause a lot of damage to property and casualties. So, we should do well the investigation of the occurrence and the development of landslides, which is in favor of the prevention of the downhill and the realignment. To avoid environmental destruction and unnecessary losses and waste, can greatly reduce the disturbance to the human normal life. The study of the YaDu landslide is based on this point of view in this paper, and its investigation is carried out. Through detailed geological survey, the formation mechanism, the basic characteristics, the stability of the situation and construction suggestions of this landslide are discussed and analyzed in detail.In order to do YaDu landslide research well, methods and contents of landslides research at home and abroad are summarized in this paper. In addition, the main contents and methods of this landslides research are defined.In order to study the characteristics and stability of the YaDu landslide, first the investigation and analysis of the regional engineering geological conditions are launched, and on the basic of that the slip mass, slide bed, sliding surface characteristics of this landside are identified, then the physical and mechanical properties of this landslide are analyzed experimentally. The failure mechanism is studied mainly from the deformation characteristics and failure mechanism in the landslide area and the comprehensive evaluation of the stability of the landslide is given out through the thrust calculation and sensitivity analysis. Finally, detailed geological survey information of this landslide is summary analyzed, and the slope stability of this landslide is evaluated in detail. As well as, some suggested values of mechanical parameters and details of the landslide remediation program recommendations of YaDu landslide are given.
