Study On Physical Mechanics Character Of Sichuan Red Strata Soft Foundation And Its Application In Project

Red strata is widely distributed in Sichuan Province and the road foundation is easy to destroy for uneven settlement with roadbed filling of it. During the period of constructing railroad and highway, excavating slope body and land-fill embankment in the region will induce frequently disaster of collapse or slip in major scope, which influence engineering construction seriously. Then it is important to study the physical and mechanical indexes on red strata in Sichuan Province.Firstly, the red strata is definited and then the geological feature of it in China is studied. The geological structure influenced the Sichuan red strata.the weathering product and weathering strip's formation are analyzed.The red strata is a complex mechanics medium. In this paper, the primary factor of affecting the Sichuan red strata soft soil mechanical character is discussed. It is useful to understanding the mechanical character's difference and variability, solving the project actual problem with the mechanical theory.Based on the 52 group samples of red soft soil, the grain granularity is analyzed to gained the grain content. It can be explained the reason of affecting the build embankment capability of the red strata soft soil. Then based on the 105 group samples, the mineral component is analyzed, which can be gained the mineral component and proportion in the Sichuan red strata soft soil. Then the internal reason that caused destroying of the structure is concluded.Using the SPSS data statistics software, the experimental data is analyzed. The predicted value of PS in different stratum with the physical and mechanical indexes are studied. Like the index of red clay, the red strata soft soil in Sichuan has high natural water content, liquid limit, plastic limit and so on. So the character of Sichuan red strata is related to its physical and mechanical indexes.In this paper, the variation law is analyzed on how the PS value and physical and mechanical indexes of red strata, when the formation is the same.Then the method of how to reduce the compressibility and improve the load capability is summarizedFinally, according to the results of Sichuan red strata soft soil, the build embankment capability is analyzed in this paper. It is of great practical significance for advancing the quality of construct and gaining anticipative economical and social benefits in the future.
