Vegetation as an important component of the ecosystem play a very important role in the control of soil erosion. Years of research and practice has shown that planting trees can not restore ecology or control of soil erosion if it has not built a community with a good structure . It is very important to get a correct understanding at the relationship between vegetation and the near-surface hydrological characteristics for using an appropriate means restore ecology and improve the ecological environment in arid and semi-arid. Funiu mountain in the Huai River Basin as an object of study, through investigation and analysis ecology communities and the near-surface hydrological factors in different successive stages, we get the major findings:1. The artificial promotion of natural succession in the study area, followed by going through stages of herbal community Stage→Brush community→artificial coniferous forest conmunities→coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest communities→broad-leaved forest communities. As for restoration of vegetation succession, Shannon Wiener index and Simpson index of the fluctuations in growth, the highest value near the top of the mixed forest community transition phase; Jsw community evenness index increasing, and gradually become stable; broad-leaved Lin top community succession after a competition, the relative single species of tree layer, resulting in decreased diversity of tree layer; shrub-grass layer with the diversity index for succession and increase reflects the shrub-grass understory layer recovery process.2. The herb layer biomass is overall reduction through the succession. The reason is that, with the evolution of communities, communities within the tree layer of the vertical structure of the progressive development of mature, higher density communities caused lack of light which makes herb layer growth hampered, community to reduce the overall aboveground biomass. Through the succession, root density of community fluctuations. 3. on the Huaihe River Basin Funiu mountain slope farmland reclaimed land near-surface hydrological changes in the nature of the study showed that from early succession to the succession of herbaceous communities Q.acutissima top communities, the initial infiltration rate of soil increased by 9-34 times , soil stability in the 10-170 fold increase in penetration ,0-20 cm soil saturated water holding capacity increased by 25%, litter accumulation increased by 76%, natural litter water-holding capacity and litter, respectively, the largest increase in water holding capacity 111% and 37%, a sign that as the vegetation succession, and not only the community structure and function improved, near-surface hydrological factors also continue to improve.4. Correlation analysis showed that, Shannon Wiener index and Simpson index and most of the hydrological factors, and negatively correlated with the Shannon Wiener index of aboveground biomass was significantly negatively correlated with soil bulk density and near-surface hydrological factor was a negative correlation, it is consistent with general law.
