About the relationship between science and religion, that we most often meet is "the conflict mode"in current literature, considering that between science and religion exists the fundamental conflict. The Galileo affair is also often interpreted as the unquestioned example about the conflict between science and religion. On the surface, this opinion seems to be unquestionable. That is because in a long period of time, science as the slave of the theology was restrained and even cruelly killed by the theology. However, a fact that must not be neglected is that science growed up and became stronger in the such process. Another fact that must not be neglected is that not all religious personages were ignorant in history, and many scientists that made outstanding achievement in science had double identities of scientist and Christian. In fact, the results of strict research about the history of science have indicated that there were unusually complex relationships between science and religion in the past,as a result, it is hard to support some general topics. The examinations about the relationships between science and religion must be examed concretely with the specific cultural background. Only the examinations were done with the background, that the examiners live up to the due state of presence and give the history the truth. This text is divided into three parts:The first part is a interpretation about the background of the Galileo affair. On one hand, the protestant movement of Martin Luther bringed the Catholic countries that includes Italy into a sensitive period of religion and politics. In such a sensitive environment, the innovation in science was easy to be considered for religious threat. On the other hand, when a culture is the mainstream culture in a society, that is when this culture has been the standard of judging for the most of people, the mainstream culture will also show strong force in criticism, although this kind of culture can not avoid the intrusion from other non-mainstream cultures. Undoubtedly,Aristotle's theory was such a culture when the new astronomy was beginning in the Renaissance. The process of the Galileo affair is gradually emerged in the second part. Simultaneously, this part is also a demasking to the prejudice that the Galileo affair was the unquestioned example about the conflict between science and religion. The tragic event that occurred in such a sensitive period must not been simplely seen as the unquestioned example about the conflict between science and religion.Conversely, this unquestioned example must be questioned deeply. The demasking to the prejudice that the Galileo affair were the unquestioned example about the conflict between science and religion in this part provides a moment for the reexamination of the relationships between science and religion. The third part is to follow this moment and to exam the relationships between science and religion preliminarily. We can see from the two letters of Galileo relating to the relationships between science and religion that the conflict between science and religion never happened in Galileo. We also can see from the related discourses of the book that Dialogue about the Ptolemaic system and the Copernicus system that inner spirit is concerned, Christianity did not hinder, but promoted the emergence of modern science. The factor of the Bible was "the vitamins and hormones"that promoted the growth of science in the Renaissance.
