Glucosinolates are a group of nitrogen- and sulfur-containing plant natural products found mainly in the the Brassicaceae family.Glucosinolates and their breakdown products exhibit a variety of biological activities,and there is strong interest in the interactions between glucosinolates and the environment.The effects of methyl jasmonate(MeJA) with different treatment mode on glucosinolates,differentially responses of glucosinolates to MeJA which treated the whole plant leaves and treated the partly leaves of plant were analyzed in Arabidopsis thaliana rosette leaves.The main results are as follows.1.The total,aliphatic and,indole glucosinolates were intensity responsed to MeJA in Arabidopsis thaliana rosette leaves.In MeJA treated the whole plant leaves experiment,the contents of aliphatic gluconsiolate after the treatment peaked at 24h,whereeas indole glucosinolates peaked at 36h.In MeJA treated the partly leaves of plant experiment,the total, aliphatic,and indole glucosinolates after the treatment peaked at 24h in treatment leaves,while peaked at 36h in non-treatment leaves.2.There are strongly effects of MeJA on aliphatic glucosinolates in Arabidopsis thaliana rosette leaves.In MeJA treated the whole plant leaves experiment,some of short-chain glucosinolates(C3-C6 side chains),such as 4-OHB,4-MSOB,and 6-MSOH,have shown no remarkably change.However,for 3-OHP,3-MSOP,5-MSOP,and long-chain glucosinolates (C7 and C8 side chains),the significant responses to MeJA was seen.In MeJA treated the partly leaves of plant experiment,the reponses of aliphatic glucosinolates to MeJA were drastically both in treatment leaves and non-treatment leaves.Interestingly,the reponses in non-treatment leaves were delayed compared to treatment leaves.The contents of 3-OHP, 4-OHB,4MSOB,5-MSOP,6-MSOH,7-MTH,8-MTO,and 8-MSOO after the treatment peaked at 24h in treatment leaves,whereeas peaked at 36h in non-treatment leaves.3.Indole glucosinolates are strongly induced by MeJA in Arabidopsis thaliana rosette leaves.In MeJA treated the whole plant leaves experiment,the contents of I3M and 4OH-I3M have shown no remarkably change within 12h after the treatment,while increased approximately 42.3%and 65.7%within 24h compared to 0h respectively,up to 192%and 166%within 48h respectively.The contents of 1MT-I3M and 4MT-I3M increased approximately 169%and 4%within 12h compared to 0h respectively,while decreased approximately 59.4%and 20.3%within 36h compared to 24h respectively.In MeJA treated the partly leaves of plant experiment,the reponses of Indole glucosinolates to MeJA were drastically both in treatment leaves and non-treatment leaves.Interestingly,the reponses in non-treatment leaves were delayed compared to treatment leaves.The contents of I3M, 4OH-I3M,and 4MT-I3M after the treatment peaked at 24h in treatment leaves,whereeas peaked at 36h in non-treatment leaves.
