Debris flow is a sudden occurred natural disaster in Mountain Area, and seriously harms the life and property of the people. Catastrophic process of debris flow is also a Mountainous Evolution process, which directly affect the changes of Mountain Environment from the origin area, transition area to accumulative area. At present the research of debris flow is mainly focused on modern debris flow. While the research about the substances of ancient mud-rock flow is quiet weak. The reason for that is a few Measures can use for the dating, the mechanisms of dating are unclear, and the data are inaccurate. So the accurate data of date and the information of paleo-environment acquisition turn into key points.Changes of the thermoluminescence signal after debris flow substance have been studied(totally 12 samples). Samples were from Jiangjia valley, Xiaojiang drainage , Yunnan province. The results indicated that the average age of the talus weathering product in the origin substance cumulus substance in transition area (3 samples) and surface moraine in accumulative area (12 samples) are respectively 7202,1223,914. And explained that the degenerate of the thermoluminescence signal in the debris process was obviously. Thermoluminescence could be used to the dating of the debris flow event. The remnant age of the substance in Accumulative area is 500-3000. In order to obtain accurate data of dating. The mechanism of dating need deeply research. In addition, Selected Frequency Luminescence 2003 has been used on the foundation of luminescence dating. Eight modern and eight ancient debris flow samples have been did from NIDEPIN, DUOZHAO, DAWAZIGOU valley, JIANGJIA valley in YUNNAN province. The characteristic spectra of the selected frequency luminescence of debris flow from the different location were obtained. Responsed to increasing irradiational dose at 310, 320, and 460 nm, we can define the wavelengths which can be used for dating.
