Luminescence is the phosphorescence emission of minerals. It has Thermo luminescence and Optical Luminescence by different stimulating way. It was useful in the age determination of the ancient pottery since the beginning, It preceded many applications in the geology, oceanography, study of Quaternary Period etc. Usually, the geologic sample is composed of different minerals. It is hot to quest for exact age when the sample is mixture. To obtain an equivalent dose exactly is important for dating. A main question that it is undependable to choose the linear apartment of luminescence response curve had been proved by lots of data. In conclusion, it proved that the linear apartment must include the natural luminescence intensity. The response of luminescence is different for different sample. Some studies on the mixture of CaSO4 and SiO2, LiF and MgSO4 CaF2. and SiO2. in different ratios of weight have been done. The data can help us analysis the characteristics of luminescence and the dating.On the base, the age of gypsum was got by thermo-luminescence (TL) dating. If different ways were used to deal with the sample, different composition was obtained. It will be influence the measuring of equivalent dose. This point of view was explained by the TL dating of loess sampled from Zhai Tang in Beijing. Selected Frequency Luminescence is that the frequency be able selected to stimulating, the releasing photons are recorded by different frequency detector. Therefore, the characteristic frequency photons of the mineral will be using to dating. I had a try to measure the equivalent dose of loess which I got from Institute of Geography Science and Natural Resource Research by BG2003 luminescent spectrograph.In addition, I did basic experiment including seeking the equivalent dose with the single piece to do a few samples; demarcated the eradiate system of laboratory and preceded the system mark settles, computing the Dose Rate of source. At last, I introduced a new kind of luminescent spectrograph called BG2006 luminescent spectrograph.
