The setting of elective subject of maths in senior high school is one of the characteristics of the new curriculum standards, among which Matrix and Transformation was the first time introduced into high school curriculum; Meanwhile,the contents of Matrix and Transformation has a close relation to some college foundation courses, such as Higher Mathematics Analytic Geometry and so on, so for college teachers and students, using what we have learned in Higher Mathematics to study the teaching of Matrix and Transformation has a very important practical sense. Most of the normal university students lack of understanding and grasping of the purpose of setting this elective subject,teaching contents and request of Matrix and Transformation written in the Standards will lead them into trouble in selecting teaching contents and teaching itself. As for the training of high school Maths teachers, we also haven't got enough data, especially the data of practical teaching research.Took the students major in Maths and the in-service teachers in Guizhou Normal University as a sample, this paper researched the teaching design and experiment of Matrix and Transformation . Firstly, a survey was designed to get the basic information of Matrix and Transformation in School of Maths and Computer Science based on the background of this research. Then some students were interviewed in order to obtain the practical demand and confirm the start-point of teaching, based on which a teaching experiment was planed to develop the first round of teaching experiment and do practical test on the scientific of the teaching design and the effectiveness of the teaching material we compiled. Then a statistics was made to analyse the experimental data for the conclusion of the research; At last, the teaching design was modified and adjusted and more attention was paid to the application of multimedia information technology in the teaching of Matrix and Transformation.The result showed us that the abundance of the teaching contents and the rationality of the teaching structure can satisfy the learning requirement of normal university students; The teaching plan of Matrix and Transformation is feasible and effective; The adoption of multimedia information technology can improve the teaching quality and efficiency: Relative teaching designs ,plans, Multimedia information teaching coursewares and the teaching softwares application platform were made to elementarily form a teaching research system where normal university students and in-service teachers could research Matrix and Transformation ;and the method of evaluating a student's study should be multiplied. this paper have achieved the expecting result and its worth of being used for reference and popularized.In the end, his paper concluded the deficiency of the research and put forward a expectation of this research.
