Informationize of agriculture and forestry will become an important development tendency in the 21st century,protection and construction of ecotope is the eternal theme of sustainable development in human society.By means of computer,modeling and simulation of plant growth will bring new opportunities to explore the mysteries of plant life and the rule of growth process,as well as to improve the environmental quality of human existence.For a large agricultural country and weak forestry like China,it is particular importance to study modeling of plant growth.Reed,dominant Plants in Wetlands,is the study object in this paper.In a large number of tests and observation,it establishes the virtual plant model of reed based on the structure - function of the feedback mechanism and on this basis it developes a virtual plant growth system.The system can simulate reed's growth under the different parameters conditions,and it will provide a theoretical basis and technical foundation in the following aspects:the artificial restoration and improving coverage of wetland plant, and improving the ecological environment.The main research works in the paper includes the following:(1) Constructing the morphogenesis developmental model of reed's stems and leaves.Base on analyzing morphological characteristics of reed section,a dynamic model of reed section-growth is constructed by curve fitting of experimental data;a mathematical model of vein curve is constructed based on the kinematic theory of theory;the reed leaf outline is geted by fitting curve by OpenGL's NURBS.(2) Constructing topology model of plant.Constructing topology model of reed base on the principle of two-scale automata.base on Knowledge of botany,reed's topology is constructed by the principle of two-scale automata.The growth model of reed is constructed by three attributes form to combine with the growth model.(3) Design and development of the visualization system.Object-oriented program design and modular programming,the growth of reed visual realization is achieved.Through the relevant growth parameters to control reed morphology structure change,it simulates the different physiological age of plant visual growth.
