Vegetation, which is the total of the plant community covering the earth and is one of the most important natural environment factors, has the crucial influence on existence of human beings and animals. Plant species diversity is the basis of biodiversity. The declining of plant species diversity can cause the extinction of many advanced animals and the loss of ecosystem functions and services. Plant species diversity has been studied on the depth and width of studying method since 1980s. Now, the study of plant species diversity has become one of the most important aspect and one of the hot topics in ecology. To conserve the biodiversity, scientists do a series of research about the basal theory including the characteristics of plant species diversity in different ecosystems, the relationship between diversity and community habitation, the relationship between diversity and community structure and functions, and so on. This study chooses Guizhou province as a sample, which lies in the southwest of China and the karst have developed strongly. Because of the particular physiognomy of Guizhou, it produces typical karst forest ecosystem. And because of it's weak ability against disturbance, especially suffers from the continual artificial disturbance, the karst forest ecosystem hardly recovers naturally or at a low speed. So it produces shrub vegetation community after forest vegetation destroyed. Then the skrub vegetation has biology or ecology characteristics like drought endurance, infertility and strong adaptability. With the continuous effect of environment factors, rocky desertification—an extreme phenomenon of siol degradation has formed, which seriously affects the development of local living conditions and economy. So, how to recover the karst ecosystem and how to govern rocky desertification? It is very necessary to study natural distribution and structure and diversity of the scrub vegetation, and to analyse the scrub community diversity and the rules interacted with environment factors. Choosing the typical karst regions in Guizhou province, and the main research methods including regional vegetation investigation and using the instrument at the Survey locations. Investigating and recording the characteristics of the vegetation of the karst scrub community in the typical plots. Using LAI-2000 Plant Canopy Analyzer to measure the community canopy in order to obtain the leaf area indicator,which is the measurable indicators of forest productivity. Then this paper analyses the interaction response between the major environment factors and plant species diversity of the karst scrub community in different habitats. To discuss the traits of plant spcies diversity in three habitats and the preserval conditions of plant species diversity. And then make a further research and find the regularity among environment factors and plant species diversity and the quantitative characteristics of plant. On the basis of conclusions above this paper will propose some constructive suggestions for vegetation restoration and preventing rocky desertification in karst landform Guizhou province.
