In March, 2013, according to our extensive investigation in different karst rocky desertification grades at Wujiang karst national geopark in Sinan county, Guizhou province, 360 samples were collected from this area. The characteristics of bryological biodiversity are as follows: It consists of 135 bryophyte taxa in 50 genera and 21 families. Among them, 127 moss taxa in 43 genera and 15 families were founded while 8 liverwort taxa in 7 genera and 6 families were recorded. In terms of genus, Pottiaceae(20.00% of the total number of genera), Brachytheciaceae(14.00% of the total number of genera), Bryaceae(8.00% of the total number of genera) and Sematophyllaceae(8.00% of the total number of genera) are dominant families. In terms of species, Pottiaceae(25.93% of the total number of species), Brachytheciaceae(17.78% of the total number of species) and Bryaceae(11.85% of the total number of species) are dominant families; each of the rest families has a little species.Bryophytes diversity(species richness and alpha diversity index of Bryophytes) showed the same distribution tend in different karst rocky desertification grades at Wujiang karst national geopark in Sinan county: no rocky desertification area(species richness index: 0.5632, alpha diversity index:1.7354)>mild rocky desertification area(species richness index: 0.0902, alpha diversity index:1.4997) > moderate rocky desertification area(species richness index:-0.2865, alpha diversity index: 1.3268) > serious rocky desertification area(species richness index:-0.3669, alpha diversity index: 1.2116). C?diversity index of bryophytes changes are as follows: the C?diversity index of bryophytes in between no rocky desertification area and mild rocky desertification area(0.5400)is maximum, the C?diversity index of bryophytes in between serious rocky desertification area and moderate rocky desertification area(0.3867)is minimum. T? diversity index of bryophytes changes are as follows: the maximum T? diversity index of bryophytes in between no rocky desertification area and mild rocky desertification area(0.007248), the minimum T? diversity index of bryophytes in between no rocky desertification area and serious rocky desertification area(0.006169).Changes of soil nutrient(N, P and K)in the process of karst rocky desertification at Wujiang karst national geopark in Sinan County as follows: the soil nutrients of bryophytes substrate is decreasing over the intensity of rocky desertification, such as : no rocky desertification area>mild rocky desertification area>moderate rocky desertification area>serious rocky desertification area. Study the difference tests of bryophyte species abundance and alpha diversity index in different karst rocky desertification grades at Wujiang karst national geopark in Sinan County:(1) the fluctuations of bryophytes richness index and alpha diversity index are relatively small in the same karst rocky desertification grades, species richness and alpha diversity index of bryophytes has no difference in the same karst rocky desertification grades.(2) The fluctuations of bryophytes richness index and alpha diversity index are relatively large in different karst rocky desertification grades, two indicators appear differences at the 0.05 level. Bryophytes grade, which based on division of bryophytes diversity index(DI), can reflect bryophyte diversity in the different grade of rocky desertification area, so the results can basically corresponds to the Rocky Desertification in this region, therefore, the bryophytes grade can be used to monitor the rocky desertification grade at Wujiang karst national geopark in Sinan county, Guizhou province.
