Rocky desertification is unique land degradation problem in the karst area, which is the combined action product of such natural background factors as the geology, the landform, the vegetation, the soil, the precipitation and the unreasonable human activity. The karst Rocky Desertification has become a big difficult problem which the countryside ecological environment construction and the development of the economy and the society have to face. The geography information technology is used widely in the aspects of the present situation investigation, control program about the karst Rocky Desertification and has accumulated massive spatial information and the social economy information of the rocky desertification area.The space decision support system of the karst rocky desertification(KSDSS) integrated control combines the geographic information system and the decision support system, is the village-level management analysis system and the plat spot category, the area inquiry analysis system ,which using the Visual Basic and MapObject controls , Who accords the present national standards to digitize and has strongly administrant function of the multimedia data and the vector data base. It is the GIS application system,who takes the foundational information and the rocky desertification decision information of the Yachi model district in Bijie Guizhou as the data resources and with the purpose of controlling the karst rocky desertification integratedly and with the GIS analysis method , the policy-making support and the software development technology.The development of the space decision support system of the karst rocky desertification(KSDSS) integrated control will play a role of policy-making support for the manage of the karst area Rocky Desertification. The system introduces real-time and high definition remote sensing data as the important data resources, making use of the multi-model combination modeling technology of the decision support system (DSS) and the geographic information system (GIS)spatial analysis technology. The system includes two main parts. One is the combination of the model base and the database which is the foundation of the policy-making support providing the auxiliary decision information of the quantitative analysis (model computation) for the policy-making; The other is the man-computer interaction, which is the union of the geographic information system and the decision support system and the interactive windows between the user and computer, including information inquiry, model computation, model search, spatial analysis and so on.
