The analysis on landscape pattern at different scale in the Dongbao District Pattern and process is the core content of Landscape Ecology, and the researches of patterns and process rely on the scale. Scale is the base of landscape ecology. As scale is an important means for people to understand the formation of landscape pattern, process mechanisms, and actions and affiliation in the grading system between the different levels, more and more attention has been paid to it by ecologists. This paper takes Dongbao District of Jingmen City as an example. It follows the thinking of theoretical research to empirical analysis, phenomena analysis to mechanism study, and seeks the system orderliness to researching the typical exploring areas. It uses the database of the actuality of land using in Dongbao District, the socio-economic statistical data and the on-the-spot investigation information. By dint of geographic information system software, landscape analysis software, and graphics software, it adopts the research methods of landscape index analysis, graphical analysis and data analysis to complement each other. The qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis integrate each other to find out the rule of effect of spatial patterns of regional landscape scale. The results show that: various types of landscape pattern and key elements of Dongbao District all have the scale effect, and when the spatial resolution ranging from 40/40m to 160/160 m it has the most dramatic changes. So we can know that: when I do the landscape pattern analysis in this pilot area, the suitable granularity for the resolution of the fine-scale study is 10m~40m , the suitable granularity for the resolution of the coarse-scale study is 160m~320m .Due to the regional development strategy restructuring and the escalation of the regional people's consumption have an enormous impact on land using, and the aim that pursues the most economic benefits makes the contradiction between people and land more prominent. This paper amalgamates with many theories, such as geography, landscape ecology, and regional economics; takes technique of the geography information systems as the support; introduces landscape pattern analysis methods into the study of spatial pattern optimization; and makes a new model for landscape Pattern space optimization. So it has a high practical value. The full text is divided into five parts, the main research are as follows:The first part is introduction. It mainly expatiates the research background, both at home and abroad research and development, the purpose of the study and the main content of research.The second part is the theoretical basis. It sums up the progress in theoretical study of domestic and international landscape ecology and the multi-scale problem, focuses on analyzing landscape pattern and elements changes in different spatial resolution, and finds out the general rules of scale effect.The third part is case studies. This paper takes Dongbao District of Jingmen City in Hubei Province as an example. It analyzes the basic situation of the study area firstly, and then describes scale effects of landscape pattern with different particle size in Dongbao District quantitatively. So I get the basic law that: the landscape pattern changes by the change of the spatial resolution.The fourth part is the elementary discuses about the optimization model of space landscape pattern in Dongbao District which is from the ecological, economic and cultural benefits, and combining with the traditional land optimization model.The fifth part is the discussion and conclusions. It makes a summary about this paper, illuminates the main innovation and the deficiencies of this study.
