Western Mathematics Brought By Matteo Ricci And The Influence To Chinese Science

At the end of Ming Dynasty, Catholic preachers inside China, as a messenger of Eastern and Western Civilizations, lead the Catholicism into China. At the Same time, they brought a lot of Western thoughts and science, and made the Eastern and Western religion, science and philosophy interact essentially for each other. This article based on the study made by the predecessors researches into the mathematics knowledge brought by Matteo Ricci(1552-1610), analyzed that Matteo Ricci spread by " Elements " and "Tong Wen Suan Zhi" for representative's western elementary mathematics, influence in Chinese science cycle as well as the development of Chinese mathematics. Firstly this article studies the Western math imported in the late Ming Dynasty, and the situation of acceptations. Simultaneously thinks about it the tendency and background .Then it makes the track of Western culture in China into details and debates the influence of the mass of the technology and culture in the field of thoughts and Chinese traditional culture.
