| GIS (Geographic Information System) is a computer system, which collects, manages, analyzes and shows spatial data, it adopts geographical method to provide spatial and dynamic information and help humanity do research and make decision.WebGIS is built on the Internet with browser/server architecture (B/S) network GIS, is the use of Web technologies for the rehabilitation and development of traditional GIS, it changed the traditional GIS operational model, so that users can take advantage of convenient, inexpensive Internet. Browser through this unified graphical user interface located in different regions to visit different types of spatial information resources.Based on WebGIS in campus is a specific application of WebGIS. First, this paper introduces principle and the relevant technical characteristics of WebGIS, and researches the compressive of space data. Secondly, introduce WebGIS application in campus by the second major development of software SuperMap IS.Net. Third is a detailed study and design of WebGIS in campus system, including WebGIS in campus system's guiding principle, system development technology line, hardware and software configuration; WebGIS in campus's design of database systems, including collection, editing and processing of spatial data and attribute data, organizational structure and connectivity and system structure of spatial data and attribute data. Finally, details on the campus WebGIS system function's design.WebGIS in campus system development, not only in helping to lead the decision-making, increase management efficiency in the traditional management model that can not be matched by the advantages, but also for the students and campus visitors to provide timely, accurate information. The establishment of schools for the future of science, intelligent, integrated network management system integrated campus laid the foundation.
