After we entered the21st century, geographic information system discipline is rapidly developed, because of the rapidly development of information era, among which the electronic map acts a important which role is a map product provided by the Internet service provider. As a result of the separation of data storage and date expression, the electronic map shows good dynamic performances and features. Along with the application of multimedia technology and visualization technology, the electronic map shows a great advantage on spatial information expression and the interaction between users and the system.Now the Internet and mobile Internet based on the mobile operators quickly become the carrier of Internet information processing and publishing, for their open and friendly interfaces. With the popularity of Internet applications and the GIS technology, the map services applied to web become the main way.The discussion of local offline map and native map services which based on the development of WEBGIS system,combined with the general characteristics of related map services and development present situation, have been described in this paper. The overall design of the system, structure design, system function design, interface design are given in this paper, which used the GIS mapping software platform named MAPINFO, implement the integration of system under the MAPINFO visualization development environment. A system prototype based on the campus gis map service was given in this paper. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1The study of the background and the current situation of this the subject, summarized the developments status, the current problems and the development tendency of current studies of location services based on the GIS technology research domestic and overseas. The analysis of the current mainstream WEBGIS commercial and open source platforms, and the analysis of implementation ways of different system based on C/S model, according the differences of their tasks.2The study of the GIS and map services on map, including the display method and the use of displayed level which related to the location and the numbers of users bound to WEBGIS. The managements of spatial data and the WEBGIS services specifications are described in this paper. The OCG defined the map as visualization of geographic information, instead of treating the map as data, we using the tagged png, gif, jpeg etc to express, or use the vector such as SVG, DCG etc. Meanwhile, the map server mode which based on spatial database, in order to batter store and organize the network map data.3The WEBGIS and OGC standard as the foundation, proposed the network map Maplnfo architecture MAPXTREME design scheme based on the system structure, thin client/fat server form of plug-in pattern. Map server through the web server request, after extracting spatial data retrieval to meet the conditions of the given file from spatial database, travel a specific directory name and URL image, display through the web server to send to the front. At the same time, the web server can also interact with the database, complete the non-spatial data call. All data were completed on the server using fat server, the front only need to submit requests and displaying corresponding response result. In the data organization network map service, with metadata table, map data, map index data table, user information table storage service required information. Using SQL database management of map data, and by using MapXtreme spatial data plug-in MapX to provide data storage environment, and provides the GIS analysis function and map interactive function.4According to WEBGIS service design scheme of MAPINFO based on MAPXTREME platform, using SQL to manage the spatial data, design and develop the campus map service system based on GIS. Systems using different geographic information, map elements and user interaction function combination, the formation of a regional platform based on map services.
