Amphibians and reptiles are the most precious national Bio-resource, and havehuge medicine value, ecology value, economy value,science-research value etc. Overthe past 50 years, many populations of amphibians and Reptiles throughout the worldhave declined markedly; some species have become extinct. West Sichuan Regionlies in Qinghai and Zangnan Subregion of Qinghai and Xizang Region andSouthwest Mountanious Subregion of Southwest Region. Southwest MountaniousSubregion of Chna is one of 25 key biodiversity regions in the world and isdistributeing of rich species of amphibians and reptiles of different genera andfamilies, studying of which means much to biodiversity conservation. Herpetologicalresearch on West Sichuan Region began at the end of 19th century. Up to thepresent, some monographs have been published, lots of reports and theses have beenpublished too. Whereas herpetological investigation didn't carried on in lots ofNature Reserves, and herpetological Species and Sites of these Nature Reserves isdim. Farther investigation and study was carried by the auther in the region. We studied Diversity of 15 Nature Reserves in the West Sichuan Region. Ourresearch indicates that United Family-diversity and genus-diversity of MountGongga,Wolong,Lixian Miyaluo,Songpan Longdieshui,Mabian Dafengding is10.636,9.3982,8.9188,8.05,7.5029 separately, and their total number of speciesis 47,38,27,24,27 separately. Diversity of the 5 Nature Reserves are highest.Herpetological distribution between eastern and western in Mt. Gongga Region iswidely different. On eastern, Amphibian diversity of middle-transect (altitude:1500m-2500m) is highest, and reptile diversity of lower-transect(altitude: below1500m) and middle-transect (altitude: 1500m-2500m) is highest too. On western, both amphibian diversity of Upper-transect (altitude: over 3000m) and reptilediversity of Upper-transect (altitude: over 3000m) are highest. We analyzed the relation between herpetological species number and ecologicalfactors such as area, longitude, latitude, altitude span, annual average air temperatureand annual average rainfall in 15 Nature Reserves of West Sichuan Region throughGrey Relatedness, in order to discover the main ecological factors influencingherpetological diversity of West Sichuan Region. Our research indicates that impactbetween ecological factors on amphibians and reptiles is consistent. Force of altitudespan and annual average rainfall are both most strong, force of longitude and latitudeare next, and force of area and annual average air temperature will be slightest.Furthermore, we analyzed herpetological threat factors in the West SichuanRegion. There are lots of factors threatening herpetological survival and reproductionin the Region, including destroying habitat such as stream of mud and stone, buildingwater and electricity station, grazing, dweller's living, poaching Tylototriton taliangensis,Paa boulengeri, and nontoxic snakes such. as Elaphe carinata, E. taeniura, Zaocysdhumnades, and drought.Based on above studies, we brought forward four strategies to conserve amphibians and reptiles in the West Sichuan Region, which will be referrence tobiodiversity conservation in the region and each Nature Reserve. First, we suggestthat Mount Gongga,Wolong,Lixian Miyaluo,Songpan Longdieshui,MabianDafengding,Butuo Le'an,Meigu Dafengding,Sichuan Caopo and Sichuan MountHaizi should be 9 priority regions of herpetological diversity conservation in WestSichuan Region. Second, according to impact between ecological factors onamphibians and reptiles, we should design space pattern reasonable. Third, Based onherpetological threat factors, we should adopt relevant conservation strategies, forinstance, conserveing herpetological habitat and animal individual. Last, There're 84Nature Reserves in the West Sichuan Region, and herpetological investigation wasnot carried in Most of them. We should go deep into herpetological investigations ineach Nature Reserve.
