A thorough investigation about the distribution of guangxi medicinal amphibians, reptiles and birds at the city and county scale was be made, analyzed terrestrial vertebrates’distribution pattern in Guangxi from macroscopic perspective, studied on the formation of animals species diversity and the reasons for changes in resource. It lays a scientific foundation for protecting and making rational use of the medicinal animals of Guangxi.l.The animal resources for medicinal use including amphibians, reptiles and birds in Guangxi were recorded amount to376species,3class,24order,77family. There were18order,56family194species in the deep forest habitat;15order,43family,143species in ecotones between deep forest and farming area;14order,38family,91species in farming area;17order,47family,148species in karst region;15order,41family,148species in water area.2.There were12species of frogs recorded in Fanming area.Using cluster analysis and PCA(principal component analysis) to Analyse the distribution density of frogs from all that farming area.The11regions which we had investigated is divided into four groups by cluster analysis, first included Shangsi,Ningming,Daxin,Longzhou,Yulin; second had Jinxiu; third included Rongshui,Sanjiang;the last one included Longlin,Longsheng and Babu District. According to PCA, Hylarana guentheri, Polypedates megacephalus, Microhyla heymonsi, Microhyla ornate, Microhyla pulchra were the major species among the Batrachia on farmland,Guangxi. Compared these five kinds of frogs’data in2013with which in1999, the result showed significantly different.3. From Dec.2008to Jan.2009,Dec.2011to Jan.2012,we investigated the wintering migration of shorebirds(Charadriiformes)in Qinzhou Bay,the result showed that the structural characteristics of shorebirds in Qinzhou Bay were changing with the weather, the similarity comparison revealed that, on sunny days,The highest similarity index of each shorebirds habitat was salt pan-aquaculture ponds and farmland, similarity index was0.96; the lowest was mangrove and mudflat, similarity index was0.49. On gloomy and cold days, the highest similarity index of each shorebirds habitat was mudflat, and salt pan-aquaculture ponds, similarity index was0.79; the lowest was mangrove and mudflat, similarity index was0.52.4. We investigated the birds of eucalyptus forest in Shangsi,Shankou, and compared that with original mingled forest which the places used to be.According to diversity analysis, the bird species at the edge of eucalyptus forest were more than inside the eucalyptus forest. diversity index and evenness index of eucalyptus forest edge were higher than which inside forest. The dominance inside forest was higher than eucalyptus forest edge, the similarity between eucalyptus forest edge and eucalyptus forest was higher. The bird species and population obviously different during different age of eucalyptus regions, the diversity and evenness of birds increase with the eucalyptus age. Compared with the original mingled forest, the bird species and population, diversity of belt transect, evenness index were all higher than eucalyptus forest, but compared with dominance, eucalyptus forest was higher than original mingled forest. The belt transect of original mingled forest and eucalyptus forest’s birds had low similarity. The birds community had changed a lot between original mingled forest and eucalyptus forest.5. on the basis of particular case in Guangxi, To analyze and assess the current situation of threatened amphibians,Reptiles and birds for medicinal use,16of them are urge to be protected:Andrias davidianus, Syrmaticus ellioti, Gracula religiosa, Tragopan caboti, Anthracoceros coronatusll, Ocadia sinensis, Cuora trifasciata, Sacalia bealei, Psittacula derbiana, Psittacula alexandri, Cuora galbinifrons, Pelecanus philippensis, Platysternon megacephalum, Pelochelys cantorii, Mauremys mutica, Cuora flavomarginata. This article also analyzes the threatened factors of medicinal animals, and proposes that measures should be taken to protect the vegetation, public education should be promoted to improve people’s awareness of protecting animals, reinforce scientific research activity to solve the contradiction between protecting medicinal wild animals and the development of local economy.
