In the three seasons of spring(Late April),summer(Late June)and autumn(Late August)in 2015 and 2016,through the fence trap method, the sample line method and net trap method,we have investigated the amphibians and reptiles in the northern foot of Changbai Mountain,as the investigation result,6 species of amphibians which are belonging to 2 orders,5 families and 6 genera were recorded;8 species of reptiles which are belong to 2 orders,3 families and 5 genera were recorded. They accounted for 66.67% and 72.72%% of amphibians and reptiles in Changbai Mountain respectively.Among them, there are 5 middle ancient northern species and 1 widespread species in the amphibian;there are 7 middle ancient northern species and 1 widespread species in the reptile. It is shown that the main composition of this are of amphibian and reptile is ancient northern area. The diversity of amphibians and reptiles in this area was measured by the diversity index Shannon-Winener and the evenness index Hurlbert(Amphibians:H=1.4339?E=0.8003,Reptiles:H=1.7111?E=0.8794);From the community str ucture of amphibians and reptiles, for amphibians, the similarity of spring and su mmer is lower than that of spring and autumn, while the similarity of autumn a nd spring and that of autumn and summer are same;for reptiles, the similarity of spring and summer and that of spring and autumn are same, while the simila rity of autumn and summer are different;Distribution of amphibians in different habitats: The dominant species of amphibian species in the forest land is Rana d ybowskii, the dominant species of amphibians in the forest edge meadow habitat are Rana dybowskii,Bufo gargarizans and Bombina orientalis, the dominant spec ies of amphibians in the pond are Bombina orientalis,Salamandrella keyserlingii and Rana dybowskii;Distribution of reptiles in different habitats: The dominant species of amphibian reptiles in the forest land is Elaphe schrenckii;the domina nt species of reptiles in the water habitat are Takydromus amurensis and Rhabdo phis tigrinus, the dominant species of reptiles in bare rock habitat are Gloydius ussurienss and Gloydius saxatilis. The paper studies habitat selection in the tail breeding period mainly through the principal component analysis method,it tested the habitat selection factors of Salamandrella keyserlingii and Hynobius leeehii in the breeding period through Mann-Whitey U,and found there was significant difference in elevation, water depth, distance between road and slope, and significant difference in water temperature, while there was no difference in other ecological factors, also, significant difference was found in the canopy density and basement through chi-square test; From the results of stepwise discriminant analysis,it shows that the habitat selection of salamandrella keyserlingii and Hynobius leeehii in the breeding period both have separation and overlapping, through further stepwise discriminate analysis,it shows that altitude and depth cause salamandrella keyserlingii and Hynobius leeehii make habitat selection in the breeding period, its success rate is up to 80.8%,and the sea level is greater than water depth in the contribution rate.
