Domestic and foreign has conducted extensive research to the phytoparisite process, quininones, the hydroxyl acids and flavonoids are identified as haustorial inducing factors in the perception of the host plants. In order to reveal the regulatory mechanism of chemical signal substances in the seed germinating of C. deserticola, we investigated the seed germinating and haustorium formation rates of C. deserticola using the tissue culture technique together with chemical signal substances and plant hormones treatments. Results showed that:1. 6-BA and GA3 in proper concentrations were the effective hormones to induce the germination of germ tube and the germinating rate was 3.3%. When treated with 6-BA + GA3 + IBA, the germinating rate doubled compared with single hormone treatments. However, the germ tube didn't form haustorium afterwards.2. DMBQ, resorcin, ferulic acid, and hydroxybenzoic acid were effective chemical signal substances in the inducement of haustorium, but the haustorium formation rate was only 3.3%.3. When they were added respectively. DMBQ+ ferulic acid and DMBQ+ resorcin had synergistic effect, the haustorium formation rate doubled in this treatment. DMBQ +ferulic acid + resorcin together with 6-BA+ GA3+ IBA showed the most effective inducing function, and the haustorium formation rate was 13.3%. The results above showed that there were different chemical signal substances functioned in the process of germ tube germination and haustorium formation of Cistanche deserticola respectively. DMBQ, ferulic acid and resorcin were effective chemical signal substances in the process of seed germination and haustorium formation of Cistanche deserticola.4.The embryo is consist of 12 cells, the endosperm cell degraded so as to provide nutrition for the embryo development .As a result, germ tube differentiated from the embryo and came out through micropylar end, the small cell at the tip of the germ tube held the capacity of cleavage and the other cells grew big ,so the germ tube elongated .The anterior extremity of germ tube swelled to form haustorium under chemical substances treatment, the haustorium cell stained ,especially its portrait because of the lignification of the cells.The results above have rexealed some regulatory chemical signal substances in the Cistanche deserticola parasitic process. This not only can theoretically solve the Cistanche deserticola parasitic mechanism problem, but also will provide the basis for the actual Cistanche deserticola production.
