Colloidal system, in which mirco-particles are scattered in the dispersed medium, is akind of the soft matter. It has many especial property and exists in many fields. Further-more, it is not only related to the life, but also commonly used in the industry. Obviously, colloids are very important to our life. However, colloidal system is very complex material.Fortunately, many scientists have made much progress on it during these years.Based on the research mentioned above, the depletion interactions in colloidal systemin the pipeline are studied through Monte Carlo simulations and acceptance ratio methodin this thesis, we mainly discussed the depletion interactions between two big spheresconfined in cylinder. In the our study, according to the acceptance ratio method, weobtain some numerical results. Firstly, we discovered that depletion interactions confinedin cylinder are larger than that confined between two parallel plates. Secondly, we findthat, with the increase of the diameter, the effects on the depletion interactions from thecylinder decrease. Finally, it was found that the depletion interactions are strongly affectedif the shape of the cylinder is changed in a way. Driven by the strengthened depletionforces, the colloidal spheres are easier to agglomerate and block the pipeline. These resultsare significative and reasonable. It not only tell us useful information about the entropicdepletion interactions in colloidal system but also provide us useful information aboutindustry the application.
