Virtual Plant is a simulation of plant growth and development in the 3-D spaces by a computer, it is the application of virtual reality technology in the field of agriculture. It mainly contains the growth model and visualization model, the plant growth reflects the dynamic changes and visualization model reflects plant morphology in the realities. The dissertation developed the growth simulation model of dominant plant reed in beigu mountain after doing lots of experiments,and the corresponding virtual plant simulation model as well as its visual model are also founded, design developed reed leaf morphology visualization system, Reed shoots of different parameters in conditions of the growth of the simulation, so through intuitive visual approach to wetlands reed plant growth and development situation of the analysis and prediction theory.The main research works in the paper are as follows:(1) Constructing the morphogenesis developmental model of reed.First this paper studies morphology structure of the reed organs, then to set up the stem growth model, the leaf shape model. The stem model is mainly gained from the curve fitting of the experimental data; The leaf shape model includes venation mathematical models and blade profile curve model, which is from the perspective of physics, applies the relevant physics, using a small amount of the biological significance of having clear parameters established.(2) Constructing the topology structure model of the reedThe topological structure shapes based on the principle of the dual-scale automation, then it connects the shape and dynamic growth model. Two models combined, it is possible to calculate the different stages of plant physiological age of the plant organs number and use the dual-scale automation theory locations plant morphological changes to simulate the entire plant growth.(3) Design and development of the visualization systemObject-oriented program design and modular programming, the growth of reed visual realization is achieved. Through the relevant growth parameters to control reed morphology structure change, it simulates the different physiological age of plant visual growth.
