Discussion On The Essence Of The Modern Technology

In the history of mankind there have been all sorts of civilization, but in a very long time various civilizations did not see much change on the material life. Despite these civilizations made the development of arts and crafts to a quite perfect degree, the human activities of remaking nature are using the simple technologies based on traditional skills and knowledge. As soon as the arrival of the Industrial Revolution in Britain, fundamental changes have taken place, which has been seen as an unprecedented development in the preceding history of the technology. In the 19th century the traditional techniques based on artisans and the physics divided from natural philosophy mixed together. Since then, the technology has grown vigorously and has permeated each aspect of mankind's life. Especially today, the technology has a direct or indirect impact to individuals and to society in all areas of life. The development of modern technology promoted the enhancement of human living standards,the improvement on the way of transport and communication, and so on. Although people often tend to accept the technical achievements and efficiency without hesitation, its negative effect can cause people's ponder and the critique.The research of this paper based on previous research, through comparing the traditional techniques with modern technology, break through the limitations of the research on traditional technology. It is not only to study the relationship between man and nature, but also to study the technical aspects of human and nature, human and his community, man and himself, to give technology a depth understand.The first part compared the traditional techniques with modern technology, and defined the concept of modern technology. The traditional philosophy was immersed in the studying of technology itself for a long-term, and only is to research the factor,structure,rule,method of the technology. So the conclusion also merely is about the technology. The modern technology has infiltrated all areas of human life. So the study on the modern technology should be from the relationships of the person and nature, the person and society, the person and person oneself. For what is modern technology, Heidegger used a word "Ge-stell" to describe.The second part through analyzing the evolution of the relationship between human and nature, between man and nature revealed in the status and role reflect the nature of the technology. The technology as a dynamic role needs to be based on the understanding of nature, by nature's mercy. First, the technology is used to control the nature, which makes human beings take advantage of it and use it. It acts as an intermediary besides us and the nature, always in coordination with the conflict between man and nature. It is always in the research of technology and the development of it to solve the conflicts between man and nature, bring the harmonious development. The third part is to analyze the social nature of the technology, and technology is a social phenomenon. The modern society is a technical society, and the technology exists in all human activities, in all aspects of the real life. It promotes social development but also is restricted by social system. It is necessary to meet the needs of society as a starting point and destination, and it need to rely on social support structureThe forth part is to analyze the humanities of the technology. It is important for technology to the comprehensive development of the realistic person. Technological advances have brought greater freedom and liberation, greatly improving the quality of the human life, improving people's health conditions. Meanwhile the technology promoted the development of human culture. But it is worth noting that modern technology has brought a lot of negative effects which should not be overlooked. In terms of technology systems, the humanistic spirit which is irrelevant with technical effectiveness is discriminated and repelled, leading to the world of humanistic spirit lessened and decadent. The human is facing to the crisis of survival and all-round social crisis.The modern technology has made humankind pay a huge price, but it was ultimately the well-being of humanity. They are not simple things we can abandon. Technology yet can bring a series of negative effects of environmental pollution and ecological damage, but we need to rethink it as for the humanization technology. Let it better service to humanity.
