The test, in PengZhou, SiChuan, indicatedthat the method had following advantages: short period, high efficiency, low cost,low working intension and highly reliable data, consequently improving traditionaltechnology's disadvantages.RS technology is of large-scale application in land management, it has largeeffect in monitoring. But in variationg investigation, the appliaction of RS is inprimary step. According to he fact, the paper puts forwards the technology based onorthophotomap, whichi is demonstrated detailedly in chapter three.The technology of GPS-PDA improves the efficiency and accuracy of field datacollection in landuse variation investigation, specially variation spot can be gottenafter data collection, and it has advantages of measuring area, entering attributesimmediately and so on. The technology changed the situation that field data collectionwas out of joint with data processing in office, cut down the degree of workcomplexity, at the same time, improving credibility of data.
