WebGIS is the direction that GIS develops in, but there are some problems in the traditional WebGIS: The requests and responses between client and server take too much time and complicated GIS functions cannot be realized.The Ajax technology is the most efficient technology at present in client. It can shorten the time of requests and responses, and can release the quantity of Data transfer in network..Net platform can make use of the Web Service technology to realize the encapsulation of GIS functions, Service function observes the certain interface regulation and exposed the external world, such whose inside Data and the function be unable completely are identical, but the outside invoking way is completely identical. By making use of this network service way, Application works only by orders and responses, both Data and program is needless to transfer in network, broadband and calculation time is saved.This paper focuses on the applying of Ajax technology at the Client of WebGIS, to get Data according to own needs, and to improve net efficiency by shorten waiting time; developes GIS functions,such as(spatial querry,attribute querry,buffer querry)etc.,using the tech- nologies of .Net and Web Service, and establishes a 3-layer WebGIS structure.
