The organization and management of spatial data is a core issue in geographic information system, which is directly related to the availability and reliability of the system. Based on a detailed study of various geospatial data, this paper will give the corresponding solutions to coastal zone changes and the need for geographical information system management of airport infrastructure. In the beginning, the paper discusses the basic character of multi-source spatial data from multi-source information and multi-source format. The norm 'multi-source' used here is more likely to be considered for various sources. Multi-platform and multi-sensor are the main representation of multi-source, while the norm 'multi-source format' means the differences of geographical data among different data sources. Secondly, geographical object oriented spatial data model and integrated spatial data structure of raster and vector are put forward as the best method for the organization and management of multi-source geospatial data. Finally, the paper discusses the organization and application of multi-source spatial data in GIS from spatial database, spatial visualization and spatial management in view of GIS application. There are analysis and comparison on the two most popular spatial data schemes, of which the Oracle Spatial scheme has higher performance and the author programmed to operate the spatial entry based on the OO4O interface, while the ArcSDE provides more completed data management mechanism in database, visualization and analysis. According to their differences, the author gives the suggestion of using middleware technology to organize and manage the coastal belt multi-source spatial data.Based on the theory of multi-source spatial data management and knowledge of ArcObjects, the author designs and realizes the management platform of costal belt multi-source spatial data by setting the spatial data storage and management as its research object, discussing the pre-process from data description to integration and using the hierarchical storage and update for spatial data.
