Because of human activities, the extinction of plant speci(?)s is accelerating on the earth nowadays. To slower the extinction, many countries and international organizations are taking effective measures. Ex-situ conservation is regarded as an important way to conserve and breed the plants. Because the surrouding factors of conservation places are diffrent to those of original producing area, not all ex-situ conservation plants growed and reproduced well in conservation places. The 14 species which growed in Jiugongshan and Wuhan botanical garden were used as materials, and the survival situations, leaves physiological indexes, leaves morphological characters of the 14 species were studied in the paper, also the climate factors, soil factors, and the correlation of them, to investigate the limited factors of the growth and reproduction of the 14 species.Ecological investigations indicated that the same species growed differently in different places. And it showed that one place was fit for especial species to a degree. It was showed by leaves morphologic characters analysis that the variations of leaves morphologic characters for Magnolia cylindrica, Calycanthus chinensis, Disanthus cercidifolius var.longipes and etc were not significant among all places, but the others were significant. Compared with the pattern specimens, the variations of leaves morphologic characters of every species were significant among different places to a degree. The leaves physiological indexes of the same species in different places were significant or very significant also.Leaves elements analysis of all samples indicated that N content maybe limit the plants growth in Wuhan botanical garden, and maybe the P content limit the plants growth in Jingongshan. Furthermore, the Ca and Mg were rich in Wuhan botanical garden's and Jinjiatian's samples, and the S content was rarely low in Jinjishi's and Anping's samples, the S content was low in Jinjiatian's samples also. The chemical elements content characters analysis of trees leaves in Wuhan botanical garden indicated that N content of Taiwania flousiana was lower; N, Mg, S content of Cercidiphyllum japonicum were lower, but Mn content was higher; S and Fe content of...
