The purpose of this research is to apply the 3S technique in the avian ecology research. The author adopted the software of SuperMap GIS as the procedure development platform, the Visual BASIC 6.0 as the procedure development language, the SQL Server 2000 as a layer where data exchange during the period of the procedure development. Under the instruction of total design, the author established the database by making use of the exploration data and spatial data that come from satellite remote sensing image. After compiling procedures and debugging completely, the author accomplished the development of "AVIAN ECOLOGY GEOGRAPHY INFORMATION SYSTEM OF WULIANGSU LAKE WETLAND" software. The software can carry out: 1.The avian information in the Wuliangsuhai wetland ecological ecosystem can be browsed , queried , edited ,and the special subject can be accounted and analyzed , and the results can be outputted etc. 2.The administrative area map of Wuliangsuhai wetland and the data of avian inhabit can be browsed , queried , edited , and the special subject can be accounted and analyzed , the area of each landscape factor can be forecasted , the results can be outputted etc. 3.The main habitation information of a bird can be queried according to the avian ecological information. Meanwhile, the avian ecological information can be queried according to the special map of the landscape factors.
