Phytomonadina, unicellular and coenobic of multicellular, is a group of eukaryotic, green algae that are normally actively motile by means of flagella during vegetative stage. It is one of the largest group of Chlorophyta, and more than 1000 species, 94 genera have been reported in the world. It is also an important group in the research of the origin and evolution of green plants. Their phylogeny and phylogenetic relationship with green plants are studied widely. In the other hand, some group of Phytomoradina have important applied value. The thesis presented 122 species which belong to 29 genera, 8 families, 4 orders, 2 classes mostly collected from Wuhan City, Hubei Province and Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province in China. 3 new genera, 9 new record genera, 25 new species, 1 new varieties and 80 new record species are described. The genera Euaulacomonas, Ampulliformis and Curviformis are new genera, the genera Hyaliela, Asteromonas, Tetratoma, Pyramichlamys, Phyllariochloris, Chlainomonas, Granulochloris, Chlamydoblepharis and Pedinopera are reported as new record in China. Ampulliformis eleganitis, Pedinopera multipyrenoidibus, Chlamydoblephoris rasilis, Granulochloris sinensia, Curviformis sinensis, Chlainomonas hubeiensis, Pyramichlamys haebinensis, Tetratoma sinica, Provasoliella zenii, Carteria amphichloris, Chlorogonium sinica, Sphaerellopsis stellae, Chloromoas ovoideformis, Chlamydomonas granumata, Chlamydomonas punctulata, Euaulacomonas chloridia, Asteromonas wuhanica et al. are recorded as new species, Chlamydomonas ametastatos var major is new varieties.
