Three-Dimension Abstraction And Expression Of City Surface Scene

Being the densest regions of population, economy, infrastructure and information, cities are important places for creation, diffusion and development of human culture. With the explosion of city, the problem on construction and management becomes more and more acute day by day. Today, people are going across the industry times and coming into the information times, it has been a primary task of geographic information science to serve the development of city. GIS (Geographic Information System) is an efficient tool for city management and acquired broad applications all around the world. When 2D GIS can not meet all the demands from various fields, 3D GIS emerges as the times require. Three Dimension city scene not only has the reality feeling , but also has function of 3D GIS database management and analysis application. Using 3D GIS, one can implements city scene reconstruction, information query, spatial information visualization, shortcut analysis, submerging analysis, and so on. But for the high complexity in both theory and technology of the subject, the research on 3D city scene is still in elementary stage.
