With computer technology, two and three dimensional data acquisition techniques and dynamic data visualization techniques of rapid development, Geographic Information System gradually matured, has developed from the initial application of visual performance to the project appliacation.As the features of 3DGIS multidimensional information processing, analysis and presentation features, has broken the shackles that the traditional two-dimensional spatial information displayed monotonously, and used in assisting in the govermment decision-making, land resources surveying, intelligent transportation e-commence and other aspects, specifically in the social services of spatial information, and it plays an irreplaceable role.3D terrain visualization technology is one of the important technologies to establish 3DGIS.This thesis adopts the ideas that combines theoy with practice development, depthly analysising the system of openness, practicality and feasibility to eatablish three-dimensional visualization, and design the overall structure.Combining system construction, and determining the way to and build 3D city models, classifying the feature information of urban space, establishing geomentric model database and texture model library.This system adopts object--oriented relational database management mode on 3D city models for the organization and management.Determining the appropriate software and hardware configuration, in the experimental area of Shen He District, taking interface design systemly and module division functionally, creating three-dimensional terrain visualization system.Since a massive of data model of three-dimensional visualization.To improve the efficicency of the system at the same time rational organization and management of data for three-dimensional model of optimization measures taken.Finally, the system adopts C#.net?ArcG? ArcSDE?Oracle?ArcGISEngine and Skyline TerraExplorerAPI, using component technology to achieve population, housing, unit management system, query and analyze geographic information systems and mobile intelligent terminal applications.Three-dimensional visualization of this District is based on electronic map as a carrier, geographic information systems and 3D GIS technology as a support, according with the general requirements that the "housekeeping" and "people into households, households into the room, room progressive mesh, mesh into the map,"and developing a 3D visualization model management system.It promotes the exchange and sharing of spatial information, make data more accurate, improves government decision-making capacity, make 3D visualization popularization.
