Mountain Tai National GeoPark is located in TaiAn city, Shangdong Province. MtTaishan has abundant geologic remains, especially famed for its Early Precambriangeological evolution, Neotectonic Movementand and palaeontological fossils, etc. It isa natural geological museum with gigantic geological value.People know mountain Tai with a new sight because of the establishment of the MtTaishan national Geopark. So it is necessary to develop a Tourism GeographicInformation System(TGIS), which aimed to introduce geoheritage and to popularizegeological knowledge for visitors. The technique, methods and development model ofthe WEBGIS are generalized in the paper, which based on a large quantity oftechnical references. By analyzing the remands of Mt taishan national geopark, theapplication system adopts B/S distributed structure finally, and chooses GeomediaWeb Map, the product of Intergraph Corp., as map application server to issue vectormap on Internet. Meanwhile uses ASP, HTMP and ActiveX together to buildinteractive Web pages.Based on anatomizing the theory of Geomedia and Geomedia Web Map, TGIS of MtTaishan's system solution is given in the paper, together with emphasis on systemframe building design, spatial database design, UI design, system function design, system capability design, interface design, etc. Subsequently, How to fulfill thoseplanning is illuminated in detail. And the process of unit test of programming issummarized. Followed the system solution, the TGIS has been fulfilled thesetasks—establishing the special database, issuing map on Internet, retrieving andresponding the information interactively, and the spatial analyses. And the TGIS of MtTaishan's system runs well. In the last section of the paper, the primary achievementsand conclusions are summarized, and advices for deficiencies in this system aresubmitted.
