Design tide level is one of basic parameters in design of ocean engineering. The method on design tide level calculation is mainly based on the hydrologic records at present. With the development of society and the improvement of technique, the ocean engineering, for example drilling platform, floating pier or island are set up more and more far from the coast with deeper water. Restricted by factors as weather, landform and traffic, it is difficult to build tidal station far away from the coast. So the traditional method isn't adapted to calculate the designed tided level in the case. Then how to calculate the design tide level at that area? This dissertation developed a new method on the design tide level calculation based on the numerical modeling of tidal current by consulting "short term synchronous relatively ways" and the technology of the numerical modeling of tidal current. The method is perfect to the method on design tide level calculation, with certain theory and practical significance.The idea of the method on the design tide level calculation based on the numerical modeling of tidal current is: firstly, tide process for short-term (one month) at engineering position is calculated by the numerical modeling of tidal current. Secondly the correlativity of high tide and low level between the engineering position and the tidal station are built by least square method. At last the design tide level at engineering position is calculated by their correlativity while the design tide level at tidal station is calculated by the way of Code (JTJ213-98).In order to test the reliability and practicability, the method is applicated at Haizhou Bay and the high or low tide level correlativity between Lianyun port and Rizhao port are built up. It is proved that the design tide level calculated by the new method is more approached to the data through traditional method. It is proved that the new method is correct. Considering its reliability, this article built the high and low tide level correlativity between Lianyun port and Dashan Island. According to the design tide level in Lianyun port, the design tide level inDashan Island was calculated as a reference for the design of 300-thousand oil dock in Lianyun port.
