Research On Data Mining In WebGIS

WebGIS is a kind of GIS technology developed rapidly from 1990th.With development of Internet/Intranet, WebGIS has been used more and more widely.At the same time,the technology of data mining has been made great progress,which supported by computer science.And data mining technology was introduced into GIS,so a new technology,Spatial Data Mining,was established.Scholars hope to integrate data mining technology with GIS technology,which can give us a useful decision-support ability,to help us make decisions.In this paper, according to the reality of computer science at present,a pilot study on data mining in WebGIS is made. And main studies are described as follows:Firstly,research progresses of WebGIS and data mining(especially distributed data mining) made in recent years are summarized;Secondly,the framework of data mining under WebGIS environment is presented.And in this framework,Mobile Agent technology is used.Then,based on research of this paper,a WebGIS on China census is designed and realized,which has some data mining functions.And at last,paper give out a detailed analysis on an experiment of Collective Clustering,which is a function of this WebGIS.
