The research on feeding ecology of Presbytis francoisi was carried out from April ,2003 to August ,2004 in Nonggang Rare Animal Protection Station ,Longzhou county, Guangxi .electing study spot at national-level nature reserve in Longzhou of south of Guangxi. , Going back to the school to array data in June. Choosing vegetation plots in July. Carrying on field Presbytis francoisi collect and work since August. Except going back school make opening speech in September, from October to the end of July next year , had open-air data collection for 15 days work at least every month. Because the monkey hives off in July that rainy season, it is very difficult to find the whereabouts of the monkey, so the materials which is short of July. The research on nutritional analysis at ecology lab of Science of Life college in Guangxi Normal University . The Focus Animal Sampling and Continuous Recording were used in studying feeding ecology . All age brackets to this group Individual on (whether the young , juvenile individual , inferior adult individual , become body ) discern individuals according to body color , size , behavior ,etc. as possible. Analyse about the nutrition of the plant that adopts the.Weight method and ultraviolet ray-absorbed method and acid-alkali method were used in analysising water, crude protein and crude fiber contain .so to understand their feeding character and their need for nutrition .We can bring out reasonable basis about habitat-protecting and raising them inside ,in order to protect more reasonably rare animal—Presbytis francoisi.The main result were as follow: 1.In the statistics of Presbytis francoisi for wild observing throughout 10 months which total 205 days,The time that resting account for most proportions up to 44.7% among Presbytis francoisi. activity for one day .the time for moving accounted for 22.1%, and the time to look for food is second only to resting during a day, it is 26.1%, Alike playing and other items of accounted for very little proportion, only 7.1%., we find that moving(p=0.009<0.01) and playing (p=0.017<0.05)has remarkable difference respectively in difference month,but feeding , resting and the other is not significant difference. Resting relate to rainfall and Playing was significantly relate to the maximum temperature and rainfall and the change of the moon to feed fruit in Presbytis francoisi . 2.The feeding time on the tree of Presbytis francoisi at Nonggang , is probably 72.2%, is far greater than the time of feeding under the tree, and Presbytis francoisi like feeding in the tall and big arbor at lower and the angled (46-80 °)of the massif. When Presbytis francoisi foraging, incline to use smaller diameter (2. 1-5. 0cm), and the branch smaller (0-45 °) in gradient. 3. Presbytis francoisi have seasonal variations to choose the direction of the slope , like the positive slope in winter to slope when foraging, but inclined to the overcast slope in summer. Heavy rain has an influence on its normal activity. The black leaf monkey suffers a tremendous influence from temperature while foraging. 4. The use of the mountain top and the foot of the hill is and very remarkable to the use difference on the middle correctly in different seasons, thePresbytis francoisi remarkable to the use difference between foot and of top the hill . 5. From the 117 of food species to suggestion that leaves made up the most part of the diet,is 57.6% and 15.9%seeds secondly, petiole accounted for proportion 10.05%. and bark and the root are little, just have 1.06%.. And the food diversity of Presbytis francoisi at Fusui is well below the food of Presbytis francoisi of Nonggang.. and root, seed, petiole or bark haven't appear in the food of the Presbytis francoisi at Fusui . Especially Presbytis francoisi feeding root is another primate who can utilize the underground parts of plant besides baboon. 6. Presbytis francoisi ,at Nonggang, is inclined to the plant with big profitability, on the choice of the food, which have differences with the Presbytis francoisi at fushui who choice of the food with big biomass. 7. The peak time of feeding of Presbytis francoisi at Nonggang have obvious seasonal variations,which at least have a. peak time of feeding when in the morning (7:45 -10:30 ) and in the afternoon (16:30 -18:30 ) respectively. Presbytis francoisi at Fusui,have another feeding peak at noon from October to May next year (except the April ) with Presbytis francoisi at Nonggangto have another feeding peak at noon on February only. 11.There was significant difference (F=9.520,P=0.005<0.01) in plant content of protein between favor species and least favor species of the Presbytis francoisi at Nonggang The content of the moisture(F=1.920,P=0.175>0.05), cellulose (F=2.675,P=0.116>0.05)and energe(F=0.021,P=0.885>0.05) can not influence remarkably the feeding of Presbytis francoisi at Nonggangto,but at fusui , the content of the cellulose of Presbytis francoisi's food have significant differenc(F=6.283,P=0.025<0.05)The content of the moisture,protein and energe haven't significant differenc.
