The Restudy Of Taichu Calendar

Taichu calendar was once used from May of the first year of Taichu to February of Yuanhe in the Latter Han, totally 189 years. It is the first complete documental one of China's existed ancient calendar and the first great innovation in the calendar history. Taichu calendar is a epoch-marking progress in China's calendar history, it almost inherited all the rationality of ex-all almanac and produced a profound influence to the calendar making in latter dynasty. Therefore, became the role model of latter generation. Taichu calendar is the key point of the study of astronomical calendar and almanac in Han dynasty. It has important academic value and realistic meaning in the archeology and mistake correction in historical records.There are two kinds of almanac both in Historical Record Almanac and Record Of Han Almanac which have the same start-point but the synodic month and the average of period different. So, figure out the complete calendar according to the data and rule in the two historical documents, make- comparsion and examine the result by unearthed cultural relics is most important. However, there is only calendar, the examination is absent.This thesis has checked out the writing and alteration state of Historical Record and Record Of Han, and made a deep research of the documents related to the Taichu calendar, the process of calendar changing, the maker, the rule, the Santong calendar etc, italso pointed out the weakness of people in the past. The original data in the historical documents was compared by calculation, and the calculation result was also checked by the unearthed cultural relics.The original Historical Record was made two alteration from the lord of Hanwu to the lord of Zhang in the Latter Han, its Almanac was indeed added into words of other's. This is the key point of this paper. This riddle is solved, the remaining ice are all releasing. The record of Taisui was discarded because of the incorrect period. The calendar found in hanjian is self-evidence. Special intercalation is also talked about in this thesis.
