Fujian is located in the SE coastal area of China. The mountain system is overlapped. The hill is rolling. It is eight mountains, one water, and one field province. The geological condition is complicated. Because there are many mountains and little field, the hills have to be shaped to build house in Fujian province. Many steep slopes are formed in the engineering construction.The typhoon and rainstorm is rich. The rainfall volume is much and strongly burst. A lot of devolution, landslide and debris flow of geological disaster are induced.Fujian province is one of severe geological disaster in china.According to the statistics presently, the economic loss due to geological disaster is one third of the natural disaster, the personnel casualty due to geological disaster is 60 percent of all disaster per year in Fujian province. The geological disaster is one of restricting factors affecting sound development of the economy and social stabilization. Therefore, it is much necessary to research geological disaster type and division evaluation. The development features and distributive law of geologic disaster in Fujian were summarized to server disaster prevention and disaster reduction.According to the statistical data of geologic disaster in Fujian province, there were 1253 geologic disaster spots including landslide 803 spots, devolution 329 spots, debris flow 63 spots, land collapse 58 spots. The analytical hierarchy process was applied to build evaluation model and to do division evaluation on development, endangerment, and hazard. Bonding the social-economic development planning in Fujian province, the main factors (historical disaster development, rainfall, engineering construction, density of population and GNP and so on) which affect geological disaster were assigned quantization. Five different risks predict division in Fujian province with semiquantitative and quantitative method.Division evaluation on geologic disaster development, endangerment, and hazard can behelpful to serve to provincial and national general planning of land utilization, layout planning of city building, and planning of disaster prevention and disaster reduction.
