The National Geopark is a special park which mainly consists of some typical geological remains all over the country that, combining with other physical landscape and human scenery, covers considerable area with unique science value, distinct physical attributes and graceful aesthetics value. The National Geopark is a place where people can both enjoy themselves with graceful landscape and pursue scientific research, whose ultimate objective is to protect geological remains, to enhance the sustainable development of economics, culture and environment of the place where it is located. The National Geopark is a new-born thing , and there has set up 85 National Geoparks in China from 2001. Cuihua Mountain National Geopark is one of 11 National Geoparks in China, which was first set up in 2001. To effectively protect Geological remains resources and make the tourism of Cuihua mountain develop fully and further, it is essential to make research on the attributes and formation causes of Geological Remains in Cuihua mountain and coordination between its protection and exploitation. From this point of view, the author has made the research which contains such cores as following: 1, To make clear the formation of different kinds of Geological Remains; 2, Through on-the-spot investigation, to make clear the respective characteristics, types, and the formation courses of three landscape divisions; 3, Through textual research, to correct the wrong opinion upon the age the landslide occurred; 4, According to the appraisal to the Geological Remains Resources, to present the measures of coordination between its protection and exploitation. The whole thesis consists of eight parts:Part 1. The general condition of Cuihua Mountain National Geopark is introduced and the research objective is presented.Part 2. The physical geography, especially the geological and morphological background of Geological Remains formation is analyzed.Part 3. The condition and pattern of mountain collapse occurrence is analyzed, and the different types of mountain collapse are classified.Part 4. Based on history record, the view that mountain collapse happened in TianBao period of Tang Dynasty is negated.Part 5. After analyzing the characteristics and formation courses of Geological Remains in different landscape division, the conclusion is made that there are ancient bedrock landslide remains in Ganqiu pond, and there are both debris flow and collapse remains around Tianchi dammed lake.Part 6. The Geological Remains resources and its exploitation surroundings are appraised in quality, which is the basis and preface to the research on coordination between its protection and exploitation.Part 7. It is put forward that the principle of coordination between Geological Remains protection and its exploitation, which mainly contains following facets: the coordination measures between geological remains and environmental background, the tactics of geological remains propaganda, the measures between geological remains and science research on it and the management pattern of geopark.Part 8. This part is the summary of the whole thesis, in which the main conclusions of the thesis are summed up and the undecided questions are set forth. The feature of the paper consists of three points:1. The thesis is accomplished by means of on-the-spot investigation combining with the analyses to the former data and references.2. It is the first time that the landslide remains are found in Ganqiu Pond and the debris flow remains in Tianchi dammed lake. Moreover, the process of mountain collapse remains is divided anew into different three periods.3. hi accordance with the problems existing in Cuihua Mountain National Geopark, the concrete measures of coordination between geological remains protection and its exploitation are put forward, besides the management of Cuihua Mountain National Geopark.
