Cuihua Mountain is located at the northern foot of Qinling in Chang' an county of Shaanxi province, which belong to the hinterland of Zhongnan Mountain. Its geographical coordinates is between the 108°59'-109°3'E and 33°54'-34°1'N. Hill, stone, hole, water, forest are included as a whole in this aere. Its unique geological features provide superior environmental conditions for bryophytes surviving and multiplying.Based on the field survey and the literature references, the composition and distribution types of Bryophytes in Cuihua Mountain are analyzed. There are about 212 species of bryophytes belonging to 102 genera and 46 families (including 5 varieties and 1 form) , among which, the liverworts total 31 species, 25 genera and 19 families, and the mosses total 181 species, 77 genera and 27 families. In these bryophytes, 3 genus and 23 species are newly reported in Qinling mountain. We also carry out special reaserch in the Bryum and identify eight kinds of species were not recorded in "FLORA OF Qinling".In this study, we select other eight regions for comparision, including Mt. Tianshan in the estern of Xinjiang, Mt. Changbai in Jilin, Mt. Qilaotu in Inner Mongolia, Mt. Xiaowutai in Hebei, Mt. guancen in Shanxi, Mt. Laoshan in Shandong, Mt. Yuntai in Henan, Mt. Jiudonglu in Fujian. The author compares the geographical location, climatic characteristics, the species abundance, the dominant families, the generic similarity coefficient, polar ordination and the phytogeographical elements. Through the comparision, the bryoflora in this region and its relationship to the realated areas are showed preliminarily and clearly. The conclusion , based on the above research, are as follow: it has more the generic similarity coefficient with Mt. Laoshan, Mt. Qilaotu, Mt. Xiaowutai, Mt. guancen and Mt. Yuntai, lying in the flora of North China. It has less relationship to Mt. Tianshan and Mt. Changbai. Its relationship to the Mt. Jiudonglu is fastest. This conclusion is the same as the opinion of the Bryoflora, which said by Chen Bangjie in 1963. Mt. Cuihua lies in the transitional zones of the flora of the central China and North China. Mt. Cuihua, Mt. Xiaowutai, Mt. guancen, Mt. Laoshan, Mt. Yuntai, Mt. Qilaotu and Mt. Changbai have the same condition that North temperat elements are dominant and East-Asian elements are at the second place, it is evidence to the opinion that there is one of the migrate routes from the Himalayas through Mt. Qinling to the northeast of China.
