| The present paper is a thesis for the degree of MS, which deals with the taxonomy of the subfamily Chloropinae from China.In the thesis, the general morphological and biological characters of Chloropinae are given. 35 species belonging to 3 genera are described, including 23 new species: Mepachymerus grandis sp. nov., Mepachymerus meridionalis sp. nov., Mepachymerus tianmushanensis sp. nov., Mepachymerus wui sp. nov., Meromyza gansuensis sp. nov., Meromyza ningxiaensis sp. nov., Meromyza acutata sp. nov., Meromyza congruens sp. nov., Meromyza neimengensis sp. nov., Meromyza yangi sp. nov., Meromyza zhuae sp. nov., Platycephala guizhouensis sp. nov., Platycephala Hi sp. nov., Platycephala maculata sp. nov., Platycephala guangxiensis sp. nov., Platycephala brevis sp. nov., Platycephala elongata sp. nov., Platycephala guangdongensis sp. nov., Platycephala xui sp. nov., Platycephala apiciniger sp. nov., Platycephala brevifemurus sp. nov., Platycephala lateralis sp. nov., Platycephala nanlingensis sp. nov., and 12 known species: Mepachymerus elongatus Yang et Yang, 1995, Mepachymerus necopinus Kanmiya, 1983, Platycephala sichuanensis Yang et Yang, 1997, Platycephala umbraculata (Fabricius, 1794), Platycephala sinensis Yang et Yang, 1994, Platycephala xanthodes Yang et Yang, 1994, Platycephala zhejiangensis Yang et Yang, 1995, Meromyza nigriventris Macquart, 1835, Meromyza pratorum Meigen, 1830, Meromyza saltatrix (Linnaeus, 1761), Meromyza nigripes Duda, 1933, Meromyza nigrofasciata Hendel, 1938. Keys to the genera of Chloropinae, and species of Mepachymerus, Meromyza, Platycephala from China are also given.In the section of results and discussion, the comparative study and relationship among the genus of the genera group platycephala from China are discussed.In addition, a check list of the Chinese Chloropinae is given.The types of new species are deposited in the Insect Collection of China Agricultural University and Zoological Museum of Zhongshan University.
